Library
Your resource for information about filming and photography at The Huntington.
The lawns here are laid out in a series of terraces, creating a natural stage. The Library in the background makes it a particularly good setting for a graduation scene.
The tall stone fountain, featuring mermaids and water-horses, is modeled after a 16th century fountain in Venice, Italy.
Across the road is the East Lawn, which stretches from the Palm Garden to the Huntington Art Gallery.
Although filming is not allowed inside the Library, it is allowed at the Central Branch of the Pasadena Public Library, a wonderfully atmospheric wood paneled building designed by Myron Hunt, who, in 1919, designed the Huntington Library. It would make a nice match to our exterior. (Check the Pasadena Film Office for more information on the Pasadena Central Library.)
